A December to Remember

It's been a crazy month. I'm just going to post a bunch of pics to look at from this month. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I know it's going to be a fantastic New Year!!

These go in reverse chronological order just because that's how they uploaded. So these first few are from our trip to the SA zoo yesterday.

The train ride is awesome!

Logan and Ellie at the SA zoo yesterday.

Logan and the Hyena. For some reason he really likes this animal.

Logan on his favorite Christmas present from Nonny and Papa (my Mom and Dad).

Isn't it cute. It holds up to 150 lbs which means that I rode on it too!

Ellie and Grace with Jack. Yes, he's huge. He's Ellie's favorite toy.
Logan, Garrick, Ellie and Becky on Christmas at Stu's grandparents house.

Ellie and Aunt Becky.

Sue blue with her new long brown hair. Lovely! Here are our new Dooney and Bourke purselets from Dad. Thanks, Dad!

More gingerbread cookie making.

Logan and Ellie's feast in front of the fireplace one night. They thought they were pretty fancy. Notice the glasses their milk is in?

Ellie as an Angel in the Thursday Christmas pageant. Since she goes 5 days, she was in the pageant twice.

Ellie as "Mary" in the pageant.

Here is "Joseph" wheeling her in the "donkey" wagon.

Yummy Christmas cookies the kids made.

Here we are in Taylor at the courthouse lights display.

I'm not sure what to say about this. I think it speaks for itself.

3 sweet kids.

Well, at least Grace and Carter are excited.

Thanksgiving, etc.

Hello all!

I just joined facebook tonight upon the recommendation of my lovely sister. It seems pretty cool so far. I guess I just assumed it was like myspace, which seems to be aimed at the younger sort. I already have some friends. If you have a face book page you can look me up and be my friend!

Ok, I just spent like 20 minutes trying to load my pictures in my old computer and found out that one of our USB ports isn't working! Woo hoo! Yet another reason we need a new one. Come on Patches, let's buy momma a new computer!! So now I'm loading the pictures on Erica's laptop, again, thanks sis!

School's going well. I can't believe that it's already December. I really like the idea of teaching these little people new things. Things they didn't know before. It's powerful. They're parents have said to me a few times little things they've learned in my class and it's very rewarding.

Erica and I just bought tickets for us and the girls to go to the Nutcracker! I'm excited. I hope they do well. They both love ballerinas so we'll see.

I know this is lame. I started doing this post last week. I've decided just to post it and start anew!

Updates

Hi all!

I know most of you have probably given up on even checking my blog, but I will continue to post whenever I can. I'm still trying to work out all the kinks of this working mom thing. It's tough.

On Nov. 1st Logan and Stu went on their first cub scout camp out. It was in the lost pines area of Bastrop. They had lots of fun and the weather was great. They did lots of cool stuff like archery, a nature walk/leaf hunt. They didn't get to have a camp fire due to the burn ban, but they did put on skits and tell jokes, both of which Logan did in front of LOTS of people. He's turned into quite the little entertainer.
Then the next weekend we went to Zilker park to the botanical garden and their dinosaur display. I hadn't been down there in years. The botanical gardens are awesome and worth taking your kids to even without the dinosaurs. We had fun.

This is the way Logan likes to wear his hair to school now. I think it's cool that he wants to have a say about his style. I asked him if any other boys in his class have their hair like that and he says "no?", like what a stupid question, mom. He's bold like that and doesn't seem to worry too much what other people think, which is good and bad. It definitely suits his personality. I just hope he doesn't want it to be too wild when he gets older!

School's been going well. This year has absolutely flown by. I can't believe that it's almost Thanksgiving and before you know it, it'll be New Years! Too crazy.

The patch business is going very well. New things are happening all the time. It's all very exciting still! I'm still getting smaller too, so that's really good. Especially considering my workouts have pretty much stopped since I started working. It's just too hard to fit them in most of the time! Like I said, I'm still trying to work out the kinks!

So those are my latest pictures. For some reason I completely forgot to take pictures this past weekend when we took care of Erica's kids. Oh, well. Ces't la vie! We had fun, but we were all tired when they got back from Kansas!!

Have a great weekend!

Halloween

We had a great Halloween. We decided to go to Aunt Erica's house to Trick-or-Treat this year since we didn't have to worry about getting up and going to school the next day. Here are some pics of our time there.

Erica dressed as Sarah Palin of course and looked great. I was like a vampiress or something- minus the teeth. You can't see it in the picture but I had on these huge eyelashes with glitter on them. Cool.

Ellie was a beautiful southern belle and Logan was a zombie. Every time we took a picture this is how he posed! He looks pretty scary in some of them! I thought everyone looked great.
Overall it was a great time trick-or-treating. All the kids did great. No crying or fits!! Woo hoo!

The kids also decorated a haunted castle like we do every year, although this year it didn't get done until Halloween day!! They did a great job. I hardly helped at all! It was great. There are some great perks to kids getting older. Also, I'm learning to let go and let them do their own thing. Even if it isn't exactly like what I would do. Being a preschool teacher is definitely helping me with that. It's more important that the kids do things themselves than for them to look perfect.
Also, just for a little "only in Texas", here's a pic of the kids on one of our first cold nights in front of the fire eating popscicles! They also roasted marshmallows, but I thought the popscicles were just hilarious!
