A great week for Logan

This week has been full of special days for Logan. At school he got a prize for being one of the kids who collected the most box tops! Nothing amazing, but they did say his name during the announcements.

Then on Thursday, his flag football team had a make-up game for one that had been rained out. Logan made his first touchdown!!!!! Never mind that it happened the one time I had gotten up to take Ellie to the bathroom!! Yes, I missed it. But Mom and Stuart were there to see it!

This morning he had another game, and he pulled his first flag! Yay Logan! Not as exciting as a touchdown, but still it's a first!

Then this afternoon we went to HEB to their Kid's fish tournament. Basically they set up a big tank in the parking lot and let 10 kids at a time fish the stocked tank for about 10 minutes. Logan and Ellie were fishing. I was by Logan and Stu was with Ellie. I looked down and Logan's line was being nibbled. I reached out and pulled it gently and what do you know, there was a fish on it!! It was so exciting! They were awarding trophies for the 3 biggest fish every hour. Logan's was 17 1/2 in. which put him in 2nd place!! He got a neat trophy! It was great!! His first time ever to catch a fish and he gets a trophy for it.

On top of all that, tomorrow we're having his birthday party at Austin Park with all his friends from school. I sure hope his streak of good luck extends to that too!!
Maybe we should have him pick us some lottery numbers or something!! Way to go Logan!

Ellie and Jack

I just took these cute pics of Ellie and Jack. I cannot put into words how much that little girl loves this cat. As much as I complain about him and his terrible potty etiquite, I don't know what we'd do without him. Although, since Grace is getting a new kitty, Ellie's been asking, "Mom, when Jack dies, can we get a kitten too?". Nice.

First Recital

Ellie and Bailey posing sooo sweetly!!!

I don't have a lot of pictures unfortunately (that day was nuts!). But it turned out to be an awesome day!! The girls were beautiful and did a great job! I cried through the whole thing of course. We did order a DVD, so we'll have great memories!

Ellie and her friend Bailey in their tap costume.

Grace and Ellie in Ballet attire!

So sweet. I wish I had the pictures of them in their hats. They wore sailor hats with the tap costume to dance to "Sea Cruise". And they wore bridal veils to dance their ballet dance to "Goin' to the Chapel". Soooooo cute!

The little graduate

Goodbye preschool,
Hello elementary school!!!!!!

It's hard to believe that my baby is going to kindergarten in a few months!!

Ellie graduated from preschool this week. Actually she did it twice. You see since she's in 2 classes (MWF, and TTh), she went to both graduations. They were both awesome! And I'll have you know that I didn't bawl at either one!
Somehow they managed to make them not so sad. They went through and handed each child a diploma, the kids sang some really cute songs, then they had a slide show that had pictures from throughout the year.
Both were great nights. By the second night though things had gotten pretty casual for Ellie.

Grace, Erica, Mom, Dad, Stuart and Logan all came to see her on her special night(s).

We love you Ellie!! We're so proud of you!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

First of all, Happy Mother's Day everyone!!

The day started out full of promise. Here we are before we left the house this morning. I do like our new dresses!!

We walked right in to Olive Garden at 11:00, no wait, no problem. We asked the waiter to take our picture. He took this one shot and I think it came out great!! So far so good!

The rest of the day didn't quite turn out as planned a (see Erica's blog for further explanation), and I seemed to get myself into quite a funk for some unknown reason. I tried to sit there and list all the things I have to be thankful for and I am thankful, but I just couldn't seem to let myself enjoy the rest of the day. So tonight I decided to have a do-over. I think next Sunday should be my new Mother's day. Gee, I wonder if Stuart will go for that one!
